Experience
- HVAC: 3+ years preferred
License/Certification
EPA certification and a valid driver’s license are required.
Pay Scale
Pay per hour, based on skills and experience. Particulars can be discussed during the interview.
Responsibilities
- Provide hand and power tools.
- Perform air balance with a velometer or hood and recognize when and what problems exist from the test.
- Layout, design, and install low-voltage wiring.
- Compile a complete materials list from blueprints.
- Verify and coordinate building code compliance.
- Communicate clearly the ideas and explanations of problems to customers and co-workers.
- Troubleshooting equipment, and making HVAC system repair and replacement decisions.
- Acquire commercial and residential HVAC maintenance agreements.
- Calculate equipment efficiency and operating costs.
- Writing work orders for projects sold.
- Responsible for the follow-up process on each work order.
- Coordinate and remain current on all local utility programs.
- Converse with facilities engineers, building and homeowners, and general contractors.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Run after-hours calls as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be EPA certified.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
- Be familiar with a wide range of HVAC equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience making HVAC repair and replacement decisions.
- Advanced customer service skills.
- Demonstrate the willingness to accept responsibility and leadership roles.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner.
- Knowledge of basic sheet metal practices.
- Knowledge of air balancing principles and techniques.
