I recently had issues with my air conditioning system and when I called O’Brien they were super helpful and were able to get someone out the same day to asses the problem. Thankfully they were able to get a part the next day and had my system up and running. Service technicians Joey and Kevin M were knowledgeable, professional and very polite. I recently had my HVAC system replaced with a new Dalkin system. I have used O’Brien for servicing of my old system for several years and have always been pleased with their quality service and professionalism. This time was no different from the initial meeting with sales representative Jeremy to the 2 day installation process. Jeremy was extremely knowledgeable and made the selection and decision making process very easy. He provided me detailed information and answered all my questions, I never felt pressured and felt comfortable with my final decision. The installation was scheduled in a timely manner. The installation crew headed by Eric were courteous professional and knowledgeable These young men were some of the hardest workers I have encountered and the display of teamwork was amazing. An HVAC tearout and install can get quite messy but the crew kept everything picked up and clean. Since it was a 2 day job and it was quite hot they put in 2 window AC units for overnight. Pretty impressive service! I would highly recommend O’Brien for any of your HVAC or plumbing needs. This is a top notch company with top notch employees!

We were down, no AC and it was hot. We are new in Southport and didn't know a reputable AC company. I asked my neighbor and Wayne highly recommended O'Brien. I called the office and the young lady that helped me was great. She got a technician out to my house the next morning, this was the weekend too. The technician, David Villanueva called me at 8:00 am and said he would be at my house in about 20 minutes and he was right on time. David was very polite and knowledgeable. He explained what the problem was, fixed it immediately, hung around long enough to make sure the AC was working properly, and then departed. I was very impressed and look forward to having David and O'Brien service my HVAC.

We have 2 separate HVAC systems (upstairs and downstairs) and both were over 20 years old and literally held together with duct tape. One failed and we decided it was finally time to replace both systems. We got 3 quotes and OBrien was the middle one on price, but we really liked the attention to detail of their quote as they had measured the house square footage, where windows were, and did a full inspection of the existing duct work and vents. They'd also quoted for a variable speed system which is much quieter than a standard system and this appealed to us as the outdoor units are right by our pool. After accepting their quote and paying the deposit they scheduled 3 days for installation in around 3 weeks time. Installation of both systems went smoothly and on time - they found one issue with rust in existing ductwork and gave us the option to ignore it or replace it, and we choose to do that as it wasn't too much extra. The new system is working great, its virtually silent, and we love having the option to control it by an app.

Do not use this company. They came to do yearly maintenance on 6 units on Friday 15th and two motors were burnt up the following day. After inspection my personal AC guy found out that they tightened the belts too much causing the motors to overheat and burn up. Just very unprofessional shady work ethic. The technicians who came by were very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. We had the HVAC system serviced and the dryer vent cleaned. They discovered that the dryer hose had never been connected to the vent properly up in the attic. He had to do a lot of extra work to fix it and get it vented properly. I would definitely recommend this company and will be using them again in the future. Excellent experience. Thank you for taking care of this for us!

Our hot water heater (which our builder put in our attic) went in the middle of the night causing water to pour down into our master bedroom closets, hallway and living room. The only plumbing service where I could reach a live person immediately was O’Brien. Their plumber, Anthony Butts, was at our home in 30 minutes. He expertly cleaned-up the mess and replaced the old hot water heater (with an assistant.) He followed-up with suggestions of ways we could avoid such a catastrophe in the future. I have been sitting on this review for a year now while I've been enjoying the finest heating and cooling experience in my own home. I feel myself take a deep breath of fresh, clean, isothermal air as soon as I walk through my door each and every day.If it weren't for O'Brien, I would still be suffering through uneven distribution of heating and cooling because I'd still be using a system that was outdated and poorly configured. And also putting out over 70% humidity.O'Brien did a complete overhaul of my HVAC system: new air ducts, new boots, new supply vent registers that were actually sealed properly, and a brand new and energy efficient inverter system by Daikin.The biggest task was relocating our new air handler to our attic so that we could gain an additional return vent for proper circulation of air in our home. That entailed building a platform for the air handler to sit on, installing the air handler, and adding the proper electrical wiring and drainage for the system. All of this was done properly despite having to work within the awkward confines of our attic. At the end of each day, the technicians had a pleasant demeanor, having just sweat buckets while carefully working around fiberglass insulation baffles in the stagnant heat of my attic.We had been wanting to do this HVAC upgrade for a while but hesitated because we were worried about finding a reliable service provider that could properly complete our install without causing us further anxiety. When Jeremy came to our home for the free estimate, he was by far the most thorough out of the 10 to 12 contractors I had already spoken with. There was zero guesswork in Jeremy's process when he went through our entire house and did a room by room load measurement. He was the only one who not only did this, but also had the service manager come by to verify that his calculations were correct.After speaking with Jeremy, we actually got excited about spending money on our new system. It did cost something, but I fully believe that if you take the time to research and learn, you end up getting what you pay for. Jeremy was able to further my knowledge of all things HVAC, while also recommending ways we could save money. It was also very nice that 0% financing was offered, so we are happy to have spent the money.Now that it has been almost an entire year of being able to walk from one end of the house to the other and never experience even a minor fluctuation in temperature, I have zero regrets. What used to be 70%+ humidity is now down to 45-50% humidity with our new system! I am so thankful we went with O'Brien because it's a blessing to have such a reliable system that gives me comfort and peace of mind. With such a big project, there were many opportunities for things to go awry or for the installers to tell us what we wanted couldn't be done. Every service technician went above and beyond to make sure that every.single.facet of our system was fully replaced and brand new, no matter how small a nook or cranny they had to squeeze into.If you're looking for someone to service or replace your HVAC system, please call O'Brien. Choose them! They offered multiple options for us so we could "price shop", so save yourself the time and hassle, and just go with the people who really know what they're doing.TLDR: they have a really good Super Bowl commercial with their service truck jumping the WB draw bridge and I feel like that really shows how committed they are to getting the job done.

I called on a Friday morning, and immediately was connected with a wonderful phone attendant who set me up with an appointment within hours. Jordan did an amazing job cleaning my dryer vents! He was prompt, professional, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He even made sure to remove his shoes EVERY time he came inside without me even telling him to do so (10/10 for that because I am OCD about shoes lol )From start to finish, Jordan made the whole process stress-free. Had an older package unit with ducts in the crawlspace and needed to change to a split unit with air handler and ducts in the attic. The design and installation went very well with the installation team of Gauge and Zack. Rain and a wet crawlspace prevented removal of the old system (rescheduled for safety), but every aspect of the process was done in a very professional manner and the system works far better than the previous design. The installation of the air handler and ducting in the attic is very logical and the workmanship has been top notch. I found all the O’Brien employees to be very professional, conscientious, punctual, and considerate of the impact the project had on me. Removal of all the old installation (8 yrs old) revealed that the previous installers had compromised the air flow and system efficiency dramatically. The new system works like charm and maintains a comfortable temperature in all areas of the house.I have no reservations in recommending them for any project of this size and complexity.

After 26 years it was time to replace my current system that had been patched numerous times. O'Brien originally installed our upstairs unit approximately 20 years ago. It still works great. They replaced the downstairs unit almost three years ago. It was having a slight issue but it was time for annual maintenance anyway so no big deal. Michael Sides came out to service the systems yesterday. He got us back on track with no problems at all. He thoroughly explained what was going on with both units, what he recommended going forward and why. There was no pressure, he answered all our questions, took his time examining everything, was nothing but honest and professional. Both units are running beautifully now. Best of all as Energy Savings Club Members with a full warranty on downstairs unit, the visit was free. Michael Sides even emailed photos of what he found and did during the visit. Highly recommend.

What a day...woke to a toilet that wasn't working. Called and Angie was a delight. Even though they couldn't schedule till Wednesday that was fine. Then a cancelation. In rides Kyle and Steve. They checked out what needed to be done. Then I had a couple of situations I had been putting off. Well, within minutes they figured everything out...went back to the shop, returned and went to work finishing everything up in record time. These Gentlemen were so caring, polite, efficient, thorough and took great pride in their job. Kyle and Steve are a True Asset to O'Brien Service Company, Plumbing Division. I truly Thank Kyle and Steve for being an answer to my prayer.

I can’t recommend anyone more highly than O’Brien plumbing. We had a pipe break during the snowstorm and although we talked to several plumbers, only Chris at O’Brien, took the time to listen to the problem and was able to come up for a way for us to get Our cold water running So we had water while we waited for The roads to improve so someone Couldcome out and do the repair. Lauren and David came out to do the repair. We have a complex hook up system and they were able to immediately figure out what to do and they had us up and running with hot water and cold water in a couple hours. They are all incredibly nice and professional people. Do yourself a favor and call O’Brien plumbing when you need plumbing help.

The plumbing technician (Kyle Williams) was great! Having a water leak with an older home, we were quite fearful but Kyle was quite reassuring and thorough about possible issues. He was very informative during repairs. We will proudly recommend O’Brien for plumbing!

We recently used O’Brien Service Company for a tricky electrical issue in our 1957 home. A lighting/receptacle circuit was intermittently losing power and causing flickering across multiple floors — not an easy problem to track down.Brad and his team were thorough, professional, and committed to identifying the root cause rather than just applying a quick fix. They spent the time systematically troubleshooting the circuit, rebuilding older connections, and replacing several devices to ensure everything was safe and functioning properly.Electrical issues in older homes can be complex, but they communicated clearly throughout the process and ultimately resolved the problem. They also worked with us on pricing, which we appreciated.Overall, we’re very happy with the outcome and would absolutely use them again for future electrical work.

So happy with our service call today. We just moved into our house and immediately had a small issue with the outside unit turning on and off erratically. Cris our service tech was professional and went above and beyond with answering all of my questions and replacing a sensor which caused the on & off issue. Chris was very thorough checking everything else to make sure everything was in working order.

I've been a maintenance customer for over 15 years and my experience has been good . Today, the guy showed up and went to the truck to get his tools. I saw him go back to the unit, within 5 minutes I saw him go back to the truck. Minutes later he came back in and told me I needed to replace a fan motor. He was not at the unit long enough to even take anything off to check the unit. If this is what $165.00 maintenance contract gets, I will Not Renew Next Year....

“Blake & team came out February 3 2026 did maintenance on our Geothermal system from New build back from 2012. Its been maintained by Obriens. Paid also for a one year warranty maintenance upfront and by recommendation per geothermal guy told us to change out the old thermostat to a new and guess what happened two weeks after 90 days the thermostat has gone wonky. The geothermal isnt pushing cold air, and they want to charge me $89. For a service call ? What did i pay for? And quess what Blake their Geo guy is no longer with them ? Do we need to look for a nother geo person and get out back ? I ℹ believe we pay over a bit of cash that day also !
