I had the best possible experience with O'Brien. As part of a government program, I was able to have a new heat pump installed in my home. O'Brien was the company I selected for purchase and installation, and it was the best decision I could have made. Every single step in the process was seamless: from my first phone call to O'Brien to county inspection following installation of the Trane system. It was.quite a job! Jeremy Heise came over first, reviewed everything (my decrepit systems, the best heat pump for my small house, and what was involved in approvals by EnergySaverNC who was responsible for the project). Jeremy made what could have been a difficult process for me an easy one to understand. The two-day removal/installation was scheduled in no time and went without a hitch. Mike Bennett handled all walk-throughs: his attention to detail was remarkable, The work was performed by very, very skilled technicians who were also a joy to have in the house – JT Walsh, Steven Clark, Carson from Meade Electric. Jeremy was always available, Tyler Criteser and Jared Leclair came by later to double-check the fuse box: terrific technicians and wonderful guys. Abby Modlin was my patient, intrepid scheduler who also sorted out all my questions. Every one of them went over and beyond for me. Apologies for anyone I forgot to mention: you were fabulous, too. I recommend them as highly as I can and without reservation. Thank you so much, everybody. My house feels wonderful for the first time in years. It's a home.

They came out to do a complimentary inspection of drier vent. Jeremy went into attic in several access points to ensure system was functioning as it should. He confirmed the vents were clear. After all the time and effort they kept their word - did not charge at all. Refreshing to see this type of integrity. They’ll be the first I call for any future needs.

Several weeks ago, and one of the hottest days of the year, our HVAC unit went out Saturday morning 4:30 a.m. I called the afterhours number and left a message and indicated I was a member of the Energy Savings Club. I was contacted soon after and was advised they could have a technician at our house within 4 hours. I got a call from Jared LeClair around 11:00 indicating he would arrive in 20 minutes. He was very thorough in checking our unit to find the problem. He determined we had a bad circuit breaker and would have to drive across town to get a replacement at the shop in order to match our electrical panel. He took the time to drive to the shop and return with a new circuit breaker. After replacing the breaker our unit was back! He still wasn't happy with one of the numbers and added freon to the unit which did the trick. I can't say enough for his attitude and the prompt service from O'Brien. I am extremely glad I am a member of their Energy Savings Club too as I got preferred/quick service, and a discount on my invoice. A++ for O'Brien

Joe first came to our home to investigate why it was very hot on one side of the house and very cold on the other side. Joe was very polite and explained exactly what was happening and how it could be fixed to ensure it never happened again. Unfortunately the prior service we used was never a reliable or sound ac/heat company. Joe explained the current system the other company used may or may not last. I asked Joe to draw up what he thought would be the best for our current situation. Well the old system lasted three days!! We requested Joe to fix the problem with the system he provided details of. Joe did an outstanding job during the extreme heat we’ve had recently! We highly recommend Joe for any type of ac/heating issues you may have today or in the future. He’s very professional and knowledgeable!! We also highly recommend O’Brians! Excellent service always!!

I called them out spent a lot of time telling them about the specific large scope of work and set an appointment. They came out within 24 hrs. I spent about 45 minutes with them. They went into their truck and said we will have a quote for you today. I was a bit surprised but ok, then an hour later I walked out to tap on the truck window to give them all of my contact info and said you can send it to me. Feeling bad that had been sitting in their car for like an hour. They left and said we have to get our manager to get this together and we will get it to you tomorrow. That sounded more realistic. A week later I called to only hear that your job it too big, too much and we can’t handle that with our crew size. Ok but at what point should this have been determined when the call was taken with the list “scope of work?” No they didn’t even call me to tell me this is not something they could do. If you have a typical small job they are your people but that’s it. So unprofessional

I recently had issues with my air conditioning system and when I called O’Brien they were super helpful and were able to get someone out the same day to asses the problem. Thankfully they were able to get a part the next day and had my system up and running. Service technicians Joey and Kevin M were knowledgeable, professional and very polite. Jonny came out late for a faulty blower motor service call . Motor would not start and needs to be replaced. Jonny put in the order and I spoke with Angel the next morning and she told me the motor was in stock and scheduled me for that afternoon . Jonny called in route arriving early! Jonny replaced the motor and got us back in AC quickly. Jonny did some system checks, pressures, temperatures, Amp draw and capacitor check as well as condensate drain. Service was very professional, detail oriented from a Technician that really enjoys his work.Thanks Jonny!Highly recommend O’Brien to all my friends and neighbors.

O'Brien Service Company recently replaced all the air flow tubing on our HVAC system and installed a media filter. It started with Kris, the salesman that visited our home, inspecting the system, addressed every question we had and prepared a reasonable offer that compelled us to retain O'Brien to perform the work we needed done. (We interviewed 3 of their competitors as well.) They even offered us a 3 year interest free loan, that we took advantage of!! Will and his team were great to work with. While the temperature in the attic was 130 degrees the 3 of them were undeterred and completed the job in the time planned for the removal and replacement of the air flow tubing along with making improvements in the air flow to rooms where there was barely any air flow coming thru the vents. Their tenacity in making sure we were satisfied was obvious in everything they did. Highly recommend talking with O'Brien if you have need of the services they offer. Janet and Larry Gorski

Unfortunately Obrians was very late in arriving as we waited all day for a plumber to clear our kitchen sink. They finally showed up as tech was finishing up a job 10 minutes away in Calabash. The price given to me the day before was $124 to clear the clog. Upon arrival the plumber quoted $537 for a 15 minute job. He stated the $124 was a dispatch fee. The office listened to the recording and it showed a discrepancy in detail. The dispatch invoice will not be paid. I don't know how they stay in business.

We discovered what appeared to be a water leak inside a wall around 7pm one evening. We called the after hours line and within minutes Kevin (HVAC supervisor) diagnosed the problem over the phone as a plumbing issue and referred it to an Obrien plumber, who come out right away. Chris was our plumbing technician and he was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He fixed the problem quickly, charged us fairly, and we had the problem solved by 9pm the same night. We could not have been more pleased.

We had a great first experience with O'Brien Service Company. We called for a commercial AC inop issue on a used Bard unit we had purchased and installed ourselves. Where most companies wanted nothing to do with this type of service call, O'Brien was on location less than a few business hours and the technician was friendly and fully confident in working on our system. We have 2 separate HVAC systems (upstairs and downstairs) and both were over 20 years old and literally held together with duct tape. One failed and we decided it was finally time to replace both systems. We got 3 quotes and OBrien was the middle one on price, but we really liked the attention to detail of their quote as they had measured the house square footage, where windows were, and did a full inspection of the existing duct work and vents. They'd also quoted for a variable speed system which is much quieter than a standard system and this appealed to us as the outdoor units are right by our pool. After accepting their quote and paying the deposit they scheduled 3 days for installation in around 3 weeks time. Installation of both systems went smoothly and on time - they found one issue with rust in existing ductwork and gave us the option to ignore it or replace it, and we choose to do that as it wasn't too much extra. The new system is working great, its virtually silent, and we love having the option to control it by an app.

“I had the best possible experience with O'Brien. As part of a government program, I was able to have a new heat pump installed in my home. O'Brien was the company I selected, and it was the best decision I could have made. Every single step in the process was seamless: from my first phone call to O'Brien to county inspection following installation of the Trane system. It was.quite a job! Jeremy Heise came over first, reviewed everything (my decrepit systems, the best heat pump for my small house, and what was involved in approvals by EnergySaverNC who was responsible for the project). The two-day removal/installation was scheduled in no time and went without a hitch. Mike Bennett handled all walk-throughs: his attention to detail was remarkable, The work was performed by very, very skilled technicians who were also a joy to have in the house – JT Walsh, Steven Clark, Carson from Meade Electric. Jeremy was always available, Tyler Criteser and Jared Leclair came by later to double-check the fuse box: terrific technicians and wonderful guys. Abby Modlin was my patient, intrepid scheduler who also sorted out all my questions. Every one of them went over and beyond for me. Apologies to anyone I forgot to mention: you were fabulous, too.
