Unfortunately Obrians was very late in arriving as we waited all day for a plumber to clear our kitchen sink. They finally showed up as tech was finishing up a job 10 minutes away in Calabash. The price given to me the day before was $124 to clear the clog. Upon arrival the plumber quoted $537 for a 15 minute job. He stated the $124 was a dispatch fee. The office listened to the recording and it showed a discrepancy in detail. The dispatch invoice will not be paid. I don't know how they stay in business.

We discovered what appeared to be a water leak inside a wall around 7pm one evening. We called the after hours line and within minutes Kevin (HVAC supervisor) diagnosed the problem over the phone as a plumbing issue and referred it to an Obrien plumber, who come out right away. Chris was our plumbing technician and he was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He fixed the problem quickly, charged us fairly, and we had the problem solved by 9pm the same night. We could not have been more pleased.

I don't write many reviews but I had to for the amazing job the team of O'Briens did at our house. Our old HVAC unit finally gave up the ghost after 20+ years of service. We had a great first experience with O'Brien Service Company. We called for a commercial AC inop issue on a used Bard unit we had purchased and installed ourselves. Where most companies wanted nothing to do with this type of service call, O'Brien was on location less than a few business hours and the technician was friendly and fully confident in working on our system. We have 2 separate HVAC systems (upstairs and downstairs) and both were over 20 years old and literally held together with duct tape. One failed and we decided it was finally time to replace both systems. We got 3 quotes and OBrien was the middle one on price, but we really liked the attention to detail of their quote as they had measured the house square footage, where windows were, and did a full inspection of the existing duct work and vents. They'd also quoted for a variable speed system which is much quieter than a standard system and this appealed to us as the outdoor units are right by our pool. After accepting their quote and paying the deposit they scheduled 3 days for installation in around 3 weeks time. Installation of both systems went smoothly and on time - they found one issue with rust in existing ductwork and gave us the option to ignore it or replace it, and we choose to do that as it wasn't too much extra. The new system is working great, its virtually silent, and we love having the option to control it by an app.

The technicians who came by were very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. We had the HVAC system serviced and the dryer vent cleaned. They discovered that the dryer hose had never been connected to the vent properly up in the attic. He had to do a lot of extra work to fix it and get it vented properly. I would definitely recommend this company and will be using them again in the future. Excellent experience. Thank you for taking care of this for us!

Our hot water heater (which our builder put in our attic) went in the middle of the night causing water to pour down into our master bedroom closets, hallway and living room. The only plumbing service where I could reach a live person immediately was O’Brien. Their plumber, Anthony Butts, was at our home in 30 minutes. He expertly cleaned-up the mess and replaced the old hot water heater (with an assistant.) He followed-up with suggestions of ways we could avoid such a catastrophe in the future. I have been sitting on this review for a year now while I've been enjoying the finest heating and cooling experience in my own home. I feel myself take a deep breath of fresh, clean, isothermal air as soon as I walk through my door each and every day.If it weren't for O'Brien, I would still be suffering through uneven distribution of heating and cooling because I'd still be using a system that was outdated and poorly configured. And also putting out over 70% humidity.O'Brien did a complete overhaul of my HVAC system: new air ducts, new boots, new supply vent registers that were actually sealed properly, and a brand new and energy efficient inverter system by Daikin.The biggest task was relocating our new air handler to our attic so that we could gain an additional return vent for proper circulation of air in our home. That entailed building a platform for the air handler to sit on, installing the air handler, and adding the proper electrical wiring and drainage for the system. All of this was done properly despite having to work within the awkward confines of our attic. At the end of each day, the technicians had a pleasant demeanor, having just sweat buckets while carefully working around fiberglass insulation baffles in the stagnant heat of my attic.We had been wanting to do this HVAC upgrade for a while but hesitated because we were worried about finding a reliable service provider that could properly complete our install without causing us further anxiety. When Jeremy came to our home for the free estimate, he was by far the most thorough out of the 10 to 12 contractors I had already spoken with. There was zero guesswork in Jeremy's process when he went through our entire house and did a room by room load measurement. He was the only one who not only did this, but also had the service manager come by to verify that his calculations were correct.After speaking with Jeremy, we actually got excited about spending money on our new system. It did cost something, but I fully believe that if you take the time to research and learn, you end up getting what you pay for. Jeremy was able to further my knowledge of all things HVAC, while also recommending ways we could save money. It was also very nice that 0% financing was offered, so we are happy to have spent the money.Now that it has been almost an entire year of being able to walk from one end of the house to the other and never experience even a minor fluctuation in temperature, I have zero regrets. What used to be 70%+ humidity is now down to 45-50% humidity with our new system! I am so thankful we went with O'Brien because it's a blessing to have such a reliable system that gives me comfort and peace of mind. With such a big project, there were many opportunities for things to go awry or for the installers to tell us what we wanted couldn't be done. Every service technician went above and beyond to make sure that every.single.facet of our system was fully replaced and brand new, no matter how small a nook or cranny they had to squeeze into.If you're looking for someone to service or replace your HVAC system, please call O'Brien. Choose them! They offered multiple options for us so we could "price shop", so save yourself the time and hassle, and just go with the people who really know what they're doing.TLDR: they have a really good Super Bowl commercial with their service truck jumping the WB draw bridge and I feel like that really shows how committed they are to getting the job done.

I called on a Friday morning, and immediately was connected with a wonderful phone attendant who set me up with an appointment within hours. Jordan did an amazing job cleaning my dryer vents! He was prompt, professional, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He even made sure to remove his shoes EVERY time he came inside without me even telling him to do so (10/10 for that because I am OCD about shoes lol )From start to finish, Jordan made the whole process stress-free. Had an older package unit with ducts in the crawlspace and needed to change to a split unit with air handler and ducts in the attic. The design and installation went very well with the installation team of Gauge and Zack. Rain and a wet crawlspace prevented removal of the old system (rescheduled for safety), but every aspect of the process was done in a very professional manner and the system works far better than the previous design. The installation of the air handler and ducting in the attic is very logical and the workmanship has been top notch. I found all the O’Brien employees to be very professional, conscientious, punctual, and considerate of the impact the project had on me. Removal of all the old installation (8 yrs old) revealed that the previous installers had compromised the air flow and system efficiency dramatically. The new system works like charm and maintains a comfortable temperature in all areas of the house.I have no reservations in recommending them for any project of this size and complexity.

The service was performed promptly and was all cleaned up upon his departure. I highly recommend O'Brien (been using you since 2012) and Michael as well. After 26 years it was time to replace my current system that had been patched numerous times. My dealings with this company was first rate from the beginning visit with Kris to the final installation by Rich and his assistant. Rich and his assistant arrived at the scheduled time They were both friendly and courteous. They worked tirelessly going up and down the stairs taking care to have all surfaces covered that they would come into contact with. The work was completed in one day. All materials and used parts were removed. I am totally pleased with my experience with this company.

“I was very pleased with the communication, response time and excellent service provided by O'Brian Service Company. Ryan took care of everything needed to address a problem with my water heater. He identified the issue, communicated with me regarding options, offered his professional opinion and then had the issue remediated the same day. He was kind, professional and eager to help.
Kyle followed up with a very thoughtful call later in the day to ensure that everything was fine and the tenant at the house had his needs addressed.

“O’Brien Service Company just installed my new HVAC system and I am thrilled with the job they did!! I knew they’d be great as they had previously installed my daughter’s system and I’d used them before to service my old system. They were fantastic every step of the way. They came right away for an after hours visit for a diagnosis. Kris Sciales came the next day and gave the most thorough and understandable estimate for the new system. Not a doubt in my mind he knew what I needed. Agreed to proceed and Alex came next to get the layout specifics. Got the new system installed later that week by Eric and Jackson. They were there all day, and I came home to everything finished and perfect! Amazing job by two super professionals!! Thank you, Eric and Jackson! Smoothest work I’ve ever had done! So happy, I got O’Brien’s to come back and clean my ductwork, too. Jordan came for that work and did a fabulous job, as well. Kris returned the next week for the safety inspection and we were all set!
