Diagnosis

Some issues are easier to repair, and others require more attention or new parts.  Therefore, it’s difficult to know what the cost of a repair will be until a technician is able to inspect the system and diagnose the problem.

Repairs

Before any repairs take place, an O’Brien technician will discuss with the customer the necessary repairs and any estimated costs associated with the repair.  In the case that a repair requires a major part and is costly, we can offer financing on that air conditioning repair, subject to approved credit.  Diagnosing an issue earlier is better for your air conditioning system.  By waiting, the problem could worsen and possibly cause other costly issues down the road.

Before Calling for an Air Conditioning Repair

We love to offer our customers some tips to help them keep their air conditioning systems running smoothly. If you notice any issues with the way your system is running, there are a few things you can check for before calling O’Brien. However, if you don't feel comfortable trying some of these tips though, simply call O'Brien!  Our service technicians will be happy to help.  Below is a list of problems and possible solutions.

If your air conditioner is not cooling, there are many factors that can be contributing to this problem.  Here are a few examples and their recommended solutions.

• Your circuit breaker may have tripped-- try to reset your breaker and see if that resolves the problem.
• Your thermostat/control might be set incorrectly or turned off-- check to make sure your thermostat/control is on and set to cool, then reset it to your desired temperature.

Another problem is the airflow might be light, or not blowing at all.  Here are some issues that could cause this, and some recommended actions.

• Your filters might be dirty-- you’ll need to check all the filters in each of your system’s components.  Make sure that you are cleaning or replacing your filters as recommended. If the problem persists, contact O’Brien.
• Your system may be frozen – again, this could be from dirty filters.  Check your filters, and if they are not clogged, contact O’Brien because there may be a leak somewhere.

Some other problems that might cause you to need an air conditioning repair are if your system is constantly running, or if you have a clogged or overflowing drain pan.  If at any point, you do not feel comfortable trying any of these suggested solutions, give O’Brien a call right away, and we’ll be happy to perform them for you.
