Touch screen thermostats are very popular in this high-tech day and age. They look sleek and are very impressive in their capabilities. There is a downfall though, and that is all the unappealing fingerprints that are often left on the screen. Not to worry though! Trane thought ahead and made a setting to clean your Trane thermostat. Not every model will have this setting, so you’ll need to follow the instructions and see if it’s available.
Steps to Clean your Trane Touchscreen Thermostat
First, select Menu from the bottom left corner. Next push the settings button. You’ll see the second option displayed is Screen, press that. Finally, you’ll see Clean Screen as the third choice, and select it. This will give you 30 seconds to clean the screen. Once completed it will exit this setting on its own. Or, you have the option to hold the exit button. Either or will bring you back to your main screen.
What to Use
When cleaning the screen, make sure to use the appropriate materials. Do not spray any liquids onto the screen. Also, do not use any supplies that could scratch the screen. Instead, use a soft damp cloth. Wipe gently until the screen is clean to your satisfaction.
