Benefits of a Ductless Mini-Split System

A ductless mini-split system is a cooling and heating system that does not require any ductwork. This is a great option if your home currently does not have ductwork, or if you’re adding an addition to your home. A ductless mini-split system also works for:

• Other spaces with no/limited heating and cooling

It's Energy Efficient

A ductless system is an extremely efficient way to heat or cool your home. Not only are the SEER ratings (efficiency rating) high, but it is also a zone-controlled system. This means the system will only heat or cool the room where the indoor unit is located. It will do so without affecting the temperature of the whole home.

So if it is an area not used very often, you can set it to a higher/lower temperature when not in the space. Also since there is no ductwork, less of the conditioned air will be “lost”.

No Ductwork

A ductless mini-split system has several other benefits besides being energy efficient. In most cases, it’s an easier installation process since no ductwork is involved.

Ductwork also needs to be cleaned in order to avoid the buildup of dust and other contaminants. With a ductless mini-split system, this issue will be eliminated, and could possibly increase your indoor air quality.

Environmentally Conscious

Finally, these systems are better for the environment. Instead of R22, they use a refrigerant called R410A, which removes the potential for ozone depletion.
