Warranties at O’Brien Service Company
Warranties are one of the several benefits when purchasing a new HVAC system. These new system warranties will differ between HVAC companies, manufactures, and what type of warranty it is. This post will explain the warranties O’Brien Service Company offers. As well as the warranty of one of our manufacturers we sell, Trane.
Manufacturer’s Warranty:
Registering your new system through the manufacturer is very important. Make sure no matter which company installs your new system or what brand they install they register it! If you don’t register the equipment you won’t be able to receive the full parts warranty. Since we generally install Trane systems we can briefly describe their manufacturer’s warranty. You will receive a 10 year parts warranty on qualifying systems when purchasing a new Trane system through our company . However, based on which system you purchase Trane’s warranties will vary . Also, restrictions will apply. Here is an overview from Trane’s site on what they cover under their warranty:
- Air conditioners compressor, outdoor coil, internal functional parts
- Heat pumps compressor, outdoor coil, internal functional parts
- Furnaces heat exchanger, internal functional parts
- Coils internal functional parts
- All-in-One Systems heat exchanger (where applicable), compressor, coil, internal functional parts
- Air Handlers internal functional parts
- Air Cleaners internal functional parts (excludes filters)
- Humidifiers internal functional parts
- Controls and Thermostats internal functional parts
Not all dealers can offer this warranty. Therefore, be sure the dealer is an authorized Trane dealer when purchasing a Trane system. Like O’Brien Service Company.
The O’Brien Experience:
After installing your new Trane system, you will have the option to purchase the O’Brien experience. For the first year after the installation this will already be included. This means everything for your system will be covered (labor and parts). If you didn’t purchase the warranty during the installation once the first year is complete, you can still choose to purchase the O’Brien Experience. Which is our labor warranty. This warranty will combine with Trane’s parts warranty and cover all the labor costs for 10 years (starting from the day your system was installed, not from when the warranty was purchased).
Though, neither warranty covers your annual maintenance. Which, you’ll need to have to keep your warranties valid. Two years from the day O’Brien installs your system will be the deadline to decide if you’d like to purchase this extended warranty. Please don’t hesitate to give our office a call if you have any questions about either of the warranties, .

So, between those two warranties you can be sure your new Trane system installation by O’Brien will be well taken care of. However, there are several other factors about both the warranties that vary case by case. For example, transferring your warranty to a new homeowner.
