We understand why asking for ballpark estimates for a new HVAC system may seem like a perfectly reasonable question. You have a budget and want a broad sense of the cost to ensure your family can handle the expense. We operate a small, family owned company and share a lot of the same concerns you do.
All that said, can you give me a Ballpark….translates to: “Can you guess exactly what’s required to install this thing we haven’t even defined yet?” This really puts us in a tough position and makes it more difficult for us to help you. We love helping our clients and solving problems that unfortunately simply giving “ballpark estimates” will not address.
What Goes into an Estimate?
We need lots information to provide a comprehensive estimate, designed specifically for your home. Your 1,800 sq/ft home is not always the same as your neighbors. We need details that we can only obtain by laying eyes on the project. Details such as: current equipment location, electrical capacity, insulation values, current duct condition, construction materials, window construction, home orientation, flooring materials, roofing materials, and more.
As you can tell, a lot goes into providing a complete estimate for your home’s heating and cooling system. Though, we don’t mind doing the work. As mentioned before, we love helping our clients and solving problems. Problems like high utility bills, uneven air flow throughout the home, high humidity, and even more than usual dust in the home can be solved with a whole home evaluation. Whose to say the system installed in your home 20 years ago was the right or best choice. Plus, would you really trade in a 1998 Chevy for a 1998 Chevy? Isn’t that what you are asking for when you want “Ballpark Estimates”?
Complimentary In-Home Evaluation
Your home is probably your single largest investment. We spend most of our time in our homes. Therefore, don’t we deserve to be comfortable and not overpay each month in utility bills? Please allow us into your home to do a proper evaluation. From there, we will design a proper system for your home and discuss exact cost. Even provide payment options to fit your budget needs. Contact us to schedule your complimentary in-home evaluation.
“In most homes across the country, systems are in fact too large. And an over sized system not only makes it more difficult to control your comfort levels, it costs you money, because you’re essentially paying to heat or cool space that isn’t even there. That’s why a properly completed load calculation is so important. Your independent Trane dealer can determine the correct system type and size for your home by doing a room-by-room load calculation.” -Trane
